Another class at Tsosoloso

In the few times I've been here, every kid at this school has become my favorite. For one, they have the coolest names: Doctor, Beauty, Precious, Remember, Forget, Patience, Lovely, and Pretty to name a few. The lesson this week involved their introduction to word processing, and Francisca had asked them to write a 500-word biography for typing up. Some of the pages were crumpled and messy, but they all did the assignment, and many of the things they wrote were heartbreaking and beautiful (samples pending). You can see that the building is brand new, but it remains mostly unelectrified and is overcrowded to the point that half of the learners are still having class in containers in an adjacent lot. Unfortunately, this is fairly characteristic of the Dept. of Education in SA.
