Waiting

The oriental poppies (Papaver orientale)in my garden are about to burst into bloom. There are purple, white and red varieties. This is a red one - the red colour to the hairs on the outside of the bud is a dead giveaway.

Lot or work in the garden today. Light trim of the hedges (after checking that there were no nests present) followed by edging of the lawns then finally a run over them with the mower.

Warm muggy day and the first properly warm evening, nice chance to sit out in the evening sun with a beer in hand.
