'Carry Weight'

Every individual or personality carries some weight in any social set up. We pay attention to him as per his rank and designation. If he is a 'heavy weight' in this world of money and honey, then we see him having great following. Even we reach in great numbers to pay last respects to him. On the contrary, the weightless people enjoy no such luxuries and remain voiceless and helpless most of the time.

We participate in only those marriage and funeral ceremonies which are vital to our social life. Though, living side by side we should be sharing our joys and sorrows to the possible extent. At least we should congratulate or express sorrows as per requirement of the occasion. But we, the most civilized specie on earth, have erected so called barriers and barricades of ego, enmity, liking, disliking around ourselves which are keeping us (the humans) apart from each.
In the good schools days, we used to come closer to each other only on the basis of pure affection and like-mindedness. But as we have grown older and wise, our friendships and relationships have become only interest and status oriented.
I was great moved by the condolences offered by the blip community regardless of relgion, colour or creed at my mother?s untimely demise. Whereas there are some people in my locality who did not even try to support me morally and ethically in this tough time. I salute to all those who condoled with me. They are really alive and carry weight in my eyes.
