In the Genes

This is my mom. We had some tea at my place this afternoon. She has adopted the roll of grandmother to Paddington and Baloo with great enthusiasm and is pictured here looking down lovingly at Baloo, who is ALWAYS keen on a cuddle.

My mom and dad had been married for 41 years and had really managed to be friends to my sister and I, without forgetting to be our parents. My mom retired in Feb 2009, at which time we were in desperate need of somebody in an administrative position at my practice... so she obliged and is now working at the hospital in the mornings, Mondays to Fridays.

She has aged incredibly well and looks a great deal younger than her 61 years... Which has made me very hopeful that those great genes had been passed down to me! Only time will tell:)
