A touch of class...

Stunning day here today, lovely and warm with a nice breeze. I headed for the nature reserve again and this time my boyfriend came with me. I think he was interested enough but he got a bit bored after a while so we didn't stay for long. He preferred this shot of two sheldrakes having a bit of a fight but I blipped a fight last week so I thought I'd just link to it, you can check it out if you're interested.

The common terns are back in force for the summer now, they were making a real racket, terrorising the place! They seemed particularly unhappy when a heron showed up, and eventually chased him back out into the lough.

This shot is of a lapwing, who looked lovely with the sun on his back. I've been trying to get a good shot of one on the ground for a few weeks now, and this was as close as one has come to me so far. I think they're very beautiful, like they've got their posh clothes on :)
