Keep Off the Dunes!

It is in large part due to these grasses that I am able to live where I do on Long Island. These grasses are what hold Fire Island (not only a place for gays, btw) together, which in turn protects my otherwise coastal town from the Atlantic. When people walk on the dunes it kills the grass which allows the soil wrapped up in the roots to wash out to sea.

Therefore, please heed the title and KEEP OFF THE DUNES!
