Long Slow Distance

Fields of Kolza

At the highest point of my long slow run this morning I passed through fields of rapeseed (or Kolza as I have come to call it after the Hungarian half of my life), the only thing that seems to affect my breathing in a hayfevery sort of way... nothing dramatic, but the heavy, honey, peppery scent makes my eyes itch and my breathing a tad laboured. Perhaps that's why I have an apparent bug that just won't go away.

Nevertheless, it looks absolutely beautiful (although I do think that it's changed the nature of the Sussex countryside substantially since its more widespread use).

The sea view beyond merged into a blue haze. I had hit the zone.
