Caversham Court
With only a few hours left before I had to leave L and A, we walked down to Caversham Court, a beautiful public garden on the banks of the Thames. Cream teas supplied by the Women's Institute, people messing about in boats on the river, barbecues going on and glorious sunshine. I was particularly impressed that Reading Council, which owns the garden, has set up allotments in the old kitchen garden of the now demolished house. They are behind the hedge.
