always look on the bright loch-side of life...

For some mental reason when I went to bed last night I decided that the zip on my sleeping bag was broken and completely irreparable. I asked Bry to have a look at it and in the light of a wee torch we tried and tried and tried again to get it to knit together so it would zip up and would the bugger zip up? No. It wouldn't.

Having spent a day in the sunshine I decided it was going to continue being a balmy, wonderous night so I got changed into my pjs, wrapped myself up in the non-zipped sleeping bag and got approximately 3 hours sleep due to waking up shivering and freezing the whole night.

Oof. Was awful. Arlo waking up at 6am put me in what can only be described as a totally shitey mood so the boys went off for some very early morning stone throwing in the loch whilst I caught up on some sleep-with-warmth (turns out I hadn't actually used the whole zip, just the bottom half. Durrrr).

After that little extra sleep I woke up feeling like a normal wife-mummy-human being and we all had a lovely day basking at the side of a beautiful loch in the sunshine.
