Dax

blippers, meet dax. he is the newest puppy in our adoption program. his is a sad story, read with caution. thursday a woman was driving her son home from school. her son noticed a little puppy on the side of the road. the woman stopped and picked him up. there are no houses in the area. she also looked around for more puppies or dogs. when she got to the puppy she realized he was hurt. one back leg was mangled. he was missing a toe, with 2 other toes barely hanging on. he had a lot of skin missing, and the leg was very swollen. he didn't smell very good, either. the woman brought him to us, not sure what to do or how much she could afford to do. she never intended to keep him, just make sure he was cared for. the doctor i work for told her he would help her field costs and we would do x-rays. once the x-rays established his leg was not broken, he decided to take the little guy in. since thursday, he has had the rest of his toes amputated, he is on antibiotics, pain meds and he smells a ton better! now we just have to find him a home!
