Nhummy....who said I can't cook?
Another ugly day in Timaru. Severe weather warnings had been issued along the country. Storms and lots of rain were forecast for the week, in addition to strong winds and gales. Some places were already in flood, but the worst is still expected to hit tonight.
Glad I didn't have class til noon, so I stayed in bed (literally...and in my pajamas too, I hadn't done that in so long, it was niiice!! ;-) ). And there I stayed till Brucie showed up and asked if I was ready! I'd been working on my logbooks all morning so didn't even't see the time going by. Also got to talk to mum on skype, which was really nice. Miss this awasome lady!
So one hour of class in the middle of the day...just to talk about how the group was feeling...this time the session was run by Sash, so much more laid back than Penny. Also watched some crazy snowboarders' videos...yep, some people are really nuts...love watching them though. After class, ended up in the library and in the finance department for a while and then home.
More paperwork, but as always couldn't concentrate, so went to the kitchen! Yep, who said I can't cook?? Prepared a real Brazilian meal: rice, beans, mashed potato, spinach, sweet potatoes, brocoli, a really nice steak and even a salad. Of course I didn't eat all of this at once, but at least I have food cooked for the next few days (and even months, since I froze some of it, too!)...and it even tasted nice...
As the rain started to pick up I got a text from my podiatrist. I'd almost forgotten I had an appointmen, oops... So shot in there to get my new inner soles and back home for more paperwork.
And that's all I did today. The rain did become heavy by the end of the day and the winds were almost scary, nothing close to a tropical storm though. Shall see what happens overnight!
Oh, good news...Henri is living in Wanaka now, which means I have good company nearby again!
