Nicky and Sam

Nicky adopted me and a couple friends at a weekend music festival last summer. Just dropped off a couple tickets for his big brother Matt and the friend he's bringing to this year's festival (too old to get in free like Nicky and his friend, and mom is on a tight budget). Nicky has grown a LOT since last summer (guess all kids are like that), so he and his pal will surely give us big folks a workout when we take turns carrying them on our shoulders to get them close to the stage.

Wish I could show you the framed painting that Nicky gave me tonight. He has an eye for color and composition far beyond his nine years! In fact, his paintings have won some ribbons in past state fairs.

Nicky and his brother are two more reasons to feel good about the future. Nicky's art is going up on my office wall tomorrow.
