Sometime during the last neighborhood girl's night out, the talk turned to books, as it always does. Usually the titles that are recommended seem like I might give them a try but this last time, hmmm, not so much. All they could talk about was the wildly popular Twilight series...how mesmerizing, hypnotizing. Aren't the movies more geared toward the teenage crowd? These are women in their late thirties, but they did almost sheepishly admit to loving it.
I now have two books in the series that have been passed on to me, even though I can't recall asking to have them passed on. I have to read them or at least try, otherwise, whatever will I have to talk about at the next girls night out? Speed read, that's what I'll do because that is a few hours I'll never get back.
Vampire movies have never been very appealing to me except maybe the really old, old, cheesy, silent ones. They always portray women as delicate beings with no will power or self control, easily seduced. If you dream that a vampire bites you, do you wake up with marks on your neck? Guess I'll find out in the morning.
Library shoot went stellar. In, snap, out.
Had a marvelous day with two of my favorite tiny ones...playing teacher, trying to nap and failing, peanut butter and jam sandwiches and assemble-your-own strawberry shortcake dessert. Oh dear, too much sugar, you think?
