Up and away

The best thing by far about the local shopping mall (a dull box of chain stores) is the ceiling. It looks as if it was designed by another hand altogether. But there is nevertheless something faintly sinister about it, perhaps because it emphasises the vast, impersonal scale of the place (I can imagine being chased through just such a landscape in some horrible nightmare) full of people milling around zombie-fashion, looking for something to buy.
