Waitrose Lunch on the Road today
Meetings in Cambridge today. I had a bit of a drive so was chatting to my mate Dan Siop He's just started on blipfoto so check him out.
I stopped at Waitrose for some Lunch. My usual supermarket of choice was not available over this side of the City.
As you can see from my blip, a fairly standard lunch was purchased, a Pastrami Sandwich, a Kitkat, a bag of Worcester Sauce Crisps and an Apple. However it did cost over £5!
AND!!!!
All the 'elements' of my lunch were not grouped together in the same place within the store. In every other Supermarket, Marks and Spencer food store, Boots, in fact every other lunch selling establishment I have ever gone to, all the lunch bits are close together for easy and speedy purchase.
In this Waitrose in Cambridge the sandwiches were at the back of the store by the Deli, the crisps in the crisps bit, chocolate in confectionary bit and the apple in the fruit and veg bit. All dotted in the opposite 4 corners of the store.
I walked and walked like I was doing a weekly food shop. Rubbish!
I reckon Waitrose must think that people who buy a lunch from Waitrose don't need to clock watch at Lunch.
Proper Posh Pastrami People!
On the upside the chap who served me at the checkout looked like Glen Cullen from The Thick of It.
