What were they thinking ?

This is the Hilton hotel in Manchester, it's by far the tallest building in the city, by quite a long way!

I'm amazed that they got the design (height) through planning!
The building is architecturally quite nice but way soooooooo tall ?

Buy the way this is the view form the roof top bar in the hotel which I was staying in much nicer that the one in the photo I think.....
