From Costorphine Hill with a huge lens
Been wanting to do this shot for ages and in the end it was a bit of a disappointment. Walked over Costorphine Hill with the biggest heaviest lens I've got, Sigma 70-200 f2.8 plus 2x teleconverter and the new carved from solid granite tripod to get some different views of the castle and Calton Hill. Done this without the 2x converter but to really get in there needed the extra zoom. No way to do that handheld so tripod essential.
Anyway, here it is, the shot I actually wanted. Had to do some real work on the sky as my 77mm polariser was blurring every shot, it's now in the bin. Still not happy, will have to try again with a more consistent light over the city.
Not worth the sore feet in the end.
