Travelling
It wasn't only my 100th birthday (blip) this week, it will also be my grandmother's 100th Birthday tomorrow. So with only L we started off on a fairly long day's journey.
First from Edinburgh to Geneva by plane, then onto the train to Zurich along Lac Leman, Lac de Neuchatel, Lac de Bienne, the Aare River then the Limmat (three lakes and two rivers). Luckily a break in Zurich (initially my plan had been to have some time at the Airport and then to travel another 6 hours on trains) where L could play with my cousins daughter and I could catch up with my aunt and then on the train from Zurich via the Swiss/German border to Tuttlingen past the magnificent Falls of the Rhine at Schaffhausen. This is where my blip comes in, note the ever efficient Swiss/Germans who provide to the commuters on either side of the border the proper sockets, in this blip the top one is Swiss, the bottom one German. Amazing really.
In Tuttlingen my sister came to collect us to her smokefilled house but then it was really cold (much cooler than Scotland) and opening a window maybe not an option and L and I were the only non-smokers in the house. Got to chat to my niece about her woes and stories from hospital and finally had to give in at way after midnight, having been up for over 12 hours and travelled across one country from part of an island to the South of yet another country.
