So it's our last morning on the opposite shore, we woke to another splendid sunrise. Lovely trip, not perfect weather, but we didn't mind it half as much as the locals. It did rain really hard yesterday morning and mid-day, but it didn't trouble us. We had a cab ride to Golden Gate Park and immersed ourselves in an Impressionist Show at the De Young Museum, amazing, a couple of paintings actually brought me to tears, which was overwhelming and a first. A lovely lunch, then across the road to another museum, The Academy of Sciences, I think eas the official title. It's dedicated to science and natural history. Amazing self sustaining building and a three story rainforest complete with flora & fauna, hot, humid and wonderful with butterflies and tropical birds flying about in the canopy.
We had about a 50 minute walk to a restaurant we had seen on our Food Network, thankfully only the last four giant blocks were uphill. The food was good...local trout, but not really up to the effort and small blisters.
We leave at 10 for a 6 hour flight, with a three hour time difference. Jet lag flying west to east is the worst. Big holiday weekend and a graduation party coming up.
Posting from the iPhone Application has been easy, and the little camera has been up to the test. The keyboard is not as much fun as the grown up Mac at home. Today's photo isn't very exciting, but it was tasty, the hotel coffee is good, hot and strong.
