It's not the tree's fault

Today we had our Eucalyptus Gunii tree pruned. Our neighbour alerted us to the fact it had grown by 5metres in the same number of years. Unfortunately during this pruning process, the tree surgeon discovered that the root system is about to interfere with our sewer drain in a bad way. He estimated a couple of years till it gets blocked.

We could have got the tree removed there and then but I've decided to keep it for another couple of years. I hope it was the right decision.

Anyway - to make us feel better, we've donated the prunings (half a tree's worth!) to the Zoo who will use it for the Koala enclosure and Wallaby feed. At least it's not gone to waste.
