Its Dandy Little Head Appeareth
How many dandelions have been blipped, I wonder. Then again it doesn't matter. Until blipfoto I had never really looked closely at the seed head of a dandelion. I'd never before seen those tiny little sparklers so tidily arranged. I'd never googled dandelion poetry before, in order to share this:
Pale little dandelion, in her white shroud,
Heareth the angel-breeze call from the cloud.
Tiny plumes fluttering, make no delay,
Little winged dandelion, soareth away. excerpt by Helen Barron Bostwick
Here it is the end of May and most of the dandelions are history, but every once in awhile, when you are out snapping shots of pretty spring flowers, you run across a dandy thing popping right up in the middle of a garden plant. I love the way they do that. They don't care about being politically correct or worry about indiscretions. They are not shy, but instead proudly raise their pretty little seed heads to the sky, as if to say, "Look at me world! Aren't I just the most perfectly round, feathery soft, plant in the garden?" And the world says,
"no."
My Taxman and I are going to an Italian restaurant tonight to celebrate our anniversary. I hope they have dandelion salad greens.
