Competition
One of my favourite crafting designers asked for his blog followers to create something using their favourite Distress Ink technique, this is my entry.
Used Broken China, Chipped Sapphire & Walnut Stain Distress Ink pads. I am getting to like tone on tone backgrounds a lot.
Took an A4 sheet, used a blending tool to apply the two blue shades using more pressure to increase the depth of colour required.
Take a plant spray bottle filled with water & spritz over the paper, leave a couple of seconds then dab off the water, this removes the colours randomly from the paper.
Using the blending tool again apply the same colours over the paper, this helps to give even more depth to the background.
Take your chosen stamps, these are from Paper Artsy, mist the stamps with water taking care not to over wet the stamp.
Stamp onto the background, remove & dab immediately, this creates a shadow or ghost image. Repeat this step until you have built up the background paper to look like you want.
Dry off stamps then ink up with the corresponding colour to the stamped ghost image, overstamp carefully. You then get the above look which is supposed to be a soft ethereal look...
Using the blending tool gently edge the completed A4 page with the Walnut Stain colour just to add that extra finishing touch & to add more depth.
I really enjoyed playing & decided to enter the competition which is to win a metal storage container for the DI pads. The storage containers have been discontinued due to manufacturing costs.
I don't think i stand a chance of winning as his competitions usually have around 3500 entries, at least i've tried. Contemplating framing this one as if you look closely you can see a face in the background, i think he's smiling...
Hope everybody enjoys the BH Weekend in the UK Memorial weekend in the USA. thank for dropping by :-)
