What is a Mac Geek?
I am.
Well, we both are.
As you can see from the blipfoto, we currently own;
2 x 13" MacBooks
2 x 32GB 3G(S) iPhones
1 x 8GB 3G iPhone
1 x 16GB iPod Nano
1 x 24" 2.8Ghz iMac
Plus various other mac accessories...
Quite a nice list, and one that I can hand to the police if a fellow blipper decides to break and enter.
Does owning the above make us Mac Geeks? No.
Cast your eye to the t-shirt on the left that says, 'I visited the Mothership', or the apple baby-grow draped over the screen. Also note the open page of Mac Format, which features me on the 'Me & My Mac' page. Now we are in geek territory.
Lets forget about the fakes on ebay - you can only buy genuine mac attire at one place in the whole world, and we made a pilgrimage to it. It is known to mac-geeks as 'The Mothership', but to everyone else it is the Mac HQ, 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, San Francisco.
That's approximately 5371 miles away from our house.
Geeky enough for you?
My brother is also a mac-geek, owning more mac stuff than I do, including an iPad. My mam and dad (in their late fifties) also ditched the PC for a MacBook Pro, and then a desktop iMac.
I guess the million dollar question is, where is our iPad? Surely we should own one by now? The truth is, we are yet to buy one. We could have bought one last month in the States, but didn't. We could have pre-ordered one from Apple and picked it up yesterday, we didn't.
Something tells me to wait for the next generation when all the little niggles are ironed out, but I'm not sure that I can. In another window on my iMac, I can see my cart on the apple site that contains an iPad and various accessories, I just have to press 'Check Out Now'.
Should I??
To iPad or not to iPad. That is the question.
