Welcome to Calgary

We arrived late this afternoon in Calgary, for the start of our two-week trip to Alberta and Saskatchewan. Snow was blowing and the temperature was 1C (34F). No hope of pictures of the Rocky Mountains (which can be seen in the distance on good days), so I settled for this rather grim composite.

I noticed the pattern as we took the cart out for our luggage at the hotel, and wondered, "Where on earth did they get that?" We got out of the elevator to go to our room, and I had my answer--leftovers from carpeting the hotel.

My blips can only improve in the next two weeks :), and the weather is supposed to get much better as well.
