Gnarly

Needed some fresh air today after yesterday's celebratory capers around various and numerous drinking dens in Stirling, so took a walk along the banks of the Forth between Cambus and Alloa.

This area used to be the grounds for a huge mansion called Tullibody House that stood here from around 1710 until it was demolished in the 1960s. There's little evidence of it now save for a few foundations but at the time it was described as 'one of the neatest and best places in the country'. I was really looking to see if there was a way in off the main paths to have a bit of a scramble around at what's left but the big scary sheep and terrifying cows put me off. Maybe next time.

Last night Stirling looked a bit like an episode of 'Sons of Anarchy' as most of the pubs we were in were full of denim and leather clad bearded biker types. Seems to have been some kind of event on as there were hundreds of bikes parked up next to tents at the local rugby club when we passed on the train. If it hadn't been for these guys some of the pubs would have been almost deserted, which is unusual for a Saturday night; maybe everyone had stayed in to watch the Eurovision Song Contest and Britain's Got Talent.
