Edgy Corner House

we walk a route
day after day
week after week
even year after year
we drive past the same buildings
notice the same house numbers
observe the changing seasons in the gardens
we sit on the bus
gaze through the smeared windows
into bedrooms and playgrounds
across shopping malls and carparks
and never see, never notice, never acknowledge
that one feature that now seems so obvious
impossible to ignore
- it's edgy, unusual, surprising, a shock
