september's theme: close to you, explained.

Maybe I wasn't being honest to the theme with this one; I really wanted to get close to this log to begin with. But I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt.

I thought this image would benefit from a duotone, and I think it did, but it sure was hard to get anything vaguely acceptable for this image's tones. It might well just be better in gray.
