Thistle flower

After taking some lovely pictures in my friends garden yesterday, I decided to see what I could find in mine! I'm not a gardener like my friend, however have a few nice flowers.

Unfortunately the last time I took a nice picture in my own garden I discovered it was a weed, very nice one I must say.

I'm not sure what this one is called and I'm hoping my friend will take a look at my blip and let me know. Then if i'is possible, I will try and amend this description to include the proper name.
