The blue yonder

The day dawned gray, chilly and wet, but as so often happens here, by noon the sun was blazing in a mostly clear sky - how does that happen?? Being originally from the Great State of Michigan, when a day arrives gray I expect it to stay that way for at least a week...

Otherwise, it was a routine day with routine tasks and the ever-present list. My camera followed me faithfully through it all, but was as uninspired as my list. In a quick jaunt out into the back garden after dinner I spotted this not yet blossomed bloom, highlighted in the fading sunshine.
