First Smiles

Back Blipped

This was the day Lyra first smiled. She was a lot later than the other babies born the same week. It felt like she was teasing us for ages! She made eye contact and was very communicative from about four weeks... but no smiles for us. For several days we had seen her smiling at herself in the mirror... but never at us.

Lyra saved her first smile for her Daddy which made me so happy as he just about burst with joy and pride. In the first few days the smiles were few and fleeting but gradually Lyra became more and more of a smiler. These days (June 2010) she reserves her biggest smiles for when Daddy gets home or when a cat enters the room!
