Swimming Against The Tide

Baby Grapes

Spent the afternoon at my friend's house today. He has a vine growing outside his bedroom window which makes grapes later on in the year. Once the grapes are ready, I often help with the harvesting by climbing out of the window onto the flat roof and cutting off the fruits which my friend's wife then makes into grape jelly - very tasty on pancakes!

They're not quite ready for harvesting yet though - although we can see where they're going to be when they do get ready. Exactly how these little grapelets will turn out depends, I suspect, on the weather!

Let's hope for a good harvest when the time comes!
