Great Eastern Rush
As the third busiest railway terminus in London, Liverpool Street has seen countless thousands of footsteps across its concourse. The station was built on the site of the original Bethlem Royal Hospital, was opened to traffic on 2 February 1874 by the Great Eastern Railway and was completely operational from 1 November 1875.
Another long day in town again for me and as I hurtle eastwards to my destination, I write this blip in anticipation of the rain stopping long enough to get home.
I paused for a few moments to capture this shot on the way to the train. and noticed how well the new and old parts of the building have melded together. I hope you like it.
