Hit and miss

Whiling away an hour or two down the local pool hall is not how I usually spend a Tuesday afternoon, but after today I feel it's a habit I could easily get into. We joined T and D for a couple of games, for some reason thinking they'd be good at it - truly, four more inept players you cannot imagine. But for every ten useless, awful misses, each of us managed one shot of total genius. Just enough to make you think that with a bit of luck and a lot of practice you could actually be good at this. Then, with your next shot, you sink the white again...
