Color Study
"A man's work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened."
~Albert Camus
Took a few photos today for a color study. I enjoy working in oil pastels and while I captured the shapes and shadows of things on film, I did the colors by eye on a pad so that I could recreate them faithfully when I have a chance.
For some reason, this building on the water really struck me. It's so clean and cool and yet has a depth of tone and detail I really admire. Plus, the water throws some neat reflections depending on the time of day.
A late sunrise I captured in the morning. The one I got Friday was much better, which is why this one didn't make the cut.
