A new project for our next visit on June 29 is the (partial) electrification of the farm village in Lusangazi.
The pic shows a diagram for a solar pump for irrigation. We will use this to pump water from the river up to a tank on the hill and use drip irrigation for our 2 acres of citrus seedlings.
We hope to store the excess energy in batteries to provide light in the hours of darkness, charge phones (for the area), use a projector for our students... and a long wish list.
Even with the internet it's a tough task to get a complete package at reasonable cost.
