Home is the soldier, home from the hill
...her plane was delayed. She got here at 2 a.m. my time, 5 a.m. by the time where she lives, and she is very tired today. She's reading a romance novel, sleeping on the couch with her phone, vegging out. I am so happy to have her home. I am so happy to kiss her forehead and to be able to look up and see her in the same room with me.
The Army has required her to make a Will and to specify what she wants done with her remains, if she is killed in Iraq. It's like having my heart beaten with a hammer to talk about this. But we have talked about it now. We planned to go to the rose garden, but she's too tired. Just the couch today. Fine. Rest. And let me look at you.
