After hours
I've decided that trying to take photos while at a conference is not ideal. You are already so tired and overwhelmed with all the people you are meeting and talking with, all the workshops, etc. that taking a good photograph is kind of the last thing that comes to mind. In any event, I'm fairly determined to post a photo a day for as long as I can keep it up.
This photo was taken at 3 in the morning at the President's Suite at the hotel. After all the daily activities, dinners, and the like there are folks who congregate there to continue discussions into the wee hours of the morning. I'm not sure why I took a photo of this. Perhaps so we would remember what we had talked about if the notebook got lost? These are the things anatomists talk about in the wee hours of the morning. Not sports, not the stock market, but how to create better courses to challenge students. Yes, we are a bunch of nerds! Here we were discussing a project a colleague of mine from Minnesota is trying to put together.
I also like that the notepad says McGraw-Hill because that is my publisher. That same evening I went to dinner with my editor, the publisher, and some co-authors who are also great friends of mine. We had a wonderful time discussing books and the like. Every time we all get together and discuss this kind of stuff it makes me feel very fortunate that I get to work with such fun and talented people. Lucky me. :-)
