facilitations
After a couple of light trundles and wanders around my new relatively immediate vicinity I'm starting to trust it more in terms of availability of streets which are safe to cut through or walk down at night, areas where the air doesn't smell like a pre-fagban pub (and sound like a pre-fagban pub hosting a combination coughing and swearing competition) and the presence of the sorts of facility it was easy to take for granted after living in Newington for sixteen years. Oddly it's slightly less convenient for things like banks and post offices, featuring only one branch of our preferred bank (which didn't have sufficient staff of adequately high clearance/authority to get the account name of Nicky's account changed, requiring an appointment the following day though one more day after two years' delay in actioning the name-change process seems quite fair) and seemingly only one post office which only had two counters, one of which was occupied with someone mailing an entire rucksack full of small parcels requiring individual pricing by weight and country of destination. One thing I'll have to wander around a bit to find are all the bank machines which must surely be hiding somewhere nearby as there can't just be those I've found already, once after walking past them the first time I needed to find them reasonably urgently.
