Shaped by war
Today Jemma and I went to the Imperial War Museum North at Salford Quays. We went to see the exhibition of Don McCullin's work as a photojournalist - "Shaped by War". Incredibly powerful, McCullin has documented most of the conflicts over the last 50 years and has also taken photographs that brought the plight of the starving in Biafra to the attention of the world. If McCullin pitched up in town folk must have known that they were in the mire!
Of course the building is also shaped by war - Libeskind's design is based on shards of a world damaged by conflict.
So it all hangs together.
