Pitter Patter Goes My Heart
It is now 1:25 AM and raining hard outside. These are the days that are full of a bunch of a events and I wish blip allowed more than one upload. I might cheat a bit by putting some picture links throughout this write up. :)
Today started off bright and early because I needed to wake up to take my SAT subject test. That hardly deserves mentioning...so moving on! I went to Relay for Life, which is a large fundraiser for cancer research, and helped out my school's team. It's always cool to see the community come together every year to raise money. I got to spray paint hair for kids for donations!
After this, I went to Laura's grad party where she hired me to be her paparazzi for the afternoon. I got to casually walk around and snap pictures of everyone and everything that was going on. She introduced me to her family (some of them actually read my blip too and are possibly reading this right now!) and it was a good time. When she leaves for Knox, I'll be best friends with her little sister HAHA. This picture is of the beautiful Laura. She didn't get any senior pictures so I took the liberty of taking one for her (sort of)! I also got a picture of her cute cousin.
Continuing on, I went to my church's formal fundraiser dinner/talent show. I performed in 5 acts consisting of dancing, guitar/singing with friends, and piano. Alice and Cat were there too! We raised a whole lot of money and it was great seeing all the talent at my church. I ended up "serenading" people with some guitar songs nearing the end of the event.
Went back to Relay for Life afterward and it was already raining by then. Every year there is this luminaria ceremony where the entire track is lit with luminarias and we walk around with candles in honor of those we have lost to cancer. It's a beautiful thing to see and experience. However, the rain extinguished many of the candles this year and we all had to walk in the rain with umbrellas. Nevertheless, the rain does not stop us and the purpose is still the same. I walked with my friend, as we did together last year, and it was a nice reliving the memory after a year's time.
