It was a fairly slow day today, apart from my excitement in the morning. Woke up and went for a cycle along Al-Farabi Avenue here, thinking it was going to be a small thing...turns out it was some big promotion in aid of the Asian Winter games next year (I assume so, I didn't have anyone with me to translate!). I arrived just at the right time, there was a small peloton of riders just ahead of me...turns out that one of them was Alexandr Vinokourov!

We cycled toward Navoi and I stayed with them for a fair while, then when the road kicked up, I couldn't keep up with their pace. That is what you call 'dropped' :) Still, if there are any photos in newspapers, or videos on the TV, I might be in it! I'll have to look out tomorrow.
