Going Home - Part 1

Today started really well!

Got up at a leisurely pace and finished packing. Hubby then loaded the car and we checked out and headed off to the airport in Phoenix.

We decided to go straight to the airport and drop off the bags before returning the car. All went very smoothly and American Airline did not charge any extra for the bags, as they honoured British Airways original baggage allowance.

Got rid of the hire car and then headed back to the airport.

My previous blip tells how we ended up being rebooked with American via Dallas instead of the direct BA flight!

The first flight went off on time and all looked good. The bear was enjoying the view from the window seat!

It was an easy connection at Dallas and a nice airport where we grabbed a quick snack before boarding the London flight. Flight pulled out on time and goto the runway where it turned round due to technical problems.

This is where it all started going wrong! We sat for 3 hours on the aircraft while the technicians tried to fix it!. Every time they started engines the aircraft load sheds electrical items then returns power to them after the start.... however the power never returned. Apparently the only things failed were the in-flight entertainment and the galley power. Well I would have got airborne! But not if you have fare paying customers on board!

So it was about midnight when we disembarked... so I'd better save the next part for the next blip!
