A Poppy for D Day
To remember my friend the Brigadier, who landed on Sword Beach on 6 June 1944. He was one of the first ashore during the night to clear mines, and also one of the few survivors from his unit. It was a privilege to know him, and hear his story first hand.
This poppy burst into flower this morning, so I felt it was a fitting tribute to him.
My last evening event tonight. For my regulars who drop by, I have managed to post a blip everyday since this busy period started last Tuesday. Hope to catch up with you all soon.
