The road to Lochinver.
This is a beautiful if rather torturous route with passing places. Apart from the views to Suilven and the sea we saw three young stags. This one is looking very wary as the other two have escaped and run across the road. They were very soon reunited and I took several pictures but liked this one the best as it captured his rather alarmed expression.
We also saw two eagles on this drive but I didn't even attempt to photograph those. We visited the pottery in Lochinver and art shop and I'm afraid we made purchases in both as well as buying some splendid pies!
To alleviate all that we walked up to Kirkaig falls - a round trip of about 5 miles and did a little extension to the loch at the base of Suilven.
It was very hot and sultry despite being so high up. We went straight to the tea shop when we got back down and as we left there were one or two big spots of rain. Within minutes of getting to the car there was a thunder storm. We were so lucky - not so the German tourists who were just setting of as we finished!
Sadly it is our last day today but a seafood dinner to look forward to tonight.
