Swaledale ewe
This is one of our Swaledale ewes. We have about 20 and mate them with a Blue-faced Leicester tup to produce a Grey-faced Mule lamb - these are excellent breeding sheep, combining the hardiness of the Swaledales with the fine-fleece and size of the Leicester, and are exported all over the country. This ewe is actually quite old and although she had 2 healthy lambs she is struggling to produce enough milk to feed them both. So we have to give her some extra feed and top one of the lambs up with milk from the bottle.
