Summit register

This is the logbook for the summit of Mt. Olympus, a peak in the Wasatch Range just outside Salt Lake.

The hike is 3.2 miles and has 4200 feet of elevation gain (read: the trail goes straight up, the whole way). It took me more than 3 hours to reach the summit. In 90 degree heat. It. was. hard. For a frame of reference, the Half Dome hike in Yosemite takes me 2 hours less to do, and is 10 miles longer.

Whew.

The Wasatch has tons of very accessible alpine peaks like this. I don't know if I care to do another one that's quite so steep, but I'm excited to explore more of these mountains.
