Which had the best scent?

We were sitting in the warm dusk on Friday night, (remember Summer?) when suddenly it seemed a good idea to see which of the Roses in the garden smelled the strongest and the best.
It seems there were a handful of real strong contenders, so they were picked and sniffed.
I spent about 4 minutes with my nose in and out of these silky heads, trying to make up my mind. It was very difficult. They smelt of Raspberries and cream, and of course Rose. Quite delicious.
In the end they were all arranged in a little vase as they were too beautiful to abandon and were put in my room. The combination of their scents filled the room all night.
