The Big School
And the Wee Man.
Euan has less than three weeks left of his Primary school education and tonight we all went back to school for a tour to the new building and for a bit of a pep talk on what to expect. This is the same school that both Euan's parents attended (that's Samantha and I unless someone knows different...), although in name and location only; the building we went to came down last year and was replaced with this very impressive Private Finance Initiative (PFI) building. When Euan somehow managed to spill a coffee in the 'hub' here I half expected someone to appear with an invoice for cleaning it up as things are so locked down and covered in penalty clauses in these types of places.
He seems to have really enjoyed the first day of his two day acclimatisation visit, not daunted at all - lots of new experiences and new faces - but I think he was secretly glad his big sister was there (a big fifth-year now) to keep an eye on him.
We'll see if tomorrow he's up at the crack of dawn banging cupboards again to try and wake us. Must be great to be so keen to get out to your 'work' you don't need an alarm to wake you.
