Custard

Turf's up!

Mrs Custard reliably informs me that back in the day when it was her job, each one of these had to be separated by hand, turned over for the sun to bake on each side, then lovingly placed into stacks of 6 to dry, then finally put into a large turf stack about 6m high to season.

And only then can they finally be put into a bag, loaded onto a trailer, unloaded at the other end and then stacked in the turf shed. Not great for the hands, or back, apparently.

She loves the bog does my missus! And now avoids going home during the turf season, at all costs...
