Dancing Ken

Today I worked from home because at lunch I had a not particularly exciting visit to the solicitor - but with so much going on right now, needs must. But as I walked back to the car I think I inadvertently found the campaign headquarters and election vehicle of Cheltenham's legendary "Dancing Ken".

In the great British political tradition of nonsense candidates, "Dancing Ken" has stood in Cheltenham for many years, grinning inanely and acquiring a few dozen votes in the process. However, the supposed real politics in Cheltenham is a duel between the Liberal Democrats, the only realistic option against a Conservative government, and the aforementioned Conservatives. And on voting for the Liberal Democrats, the only non-Tory seat for many miles around in the South of England, contributing to the failure of the Conservatives to get an overall majority, it seems the unlikely Con-Lib coalition has made any Cheltenham vote irrelevant anyway.

So now, which was really the nonsense meaningless vote?
